Methodology
In these current time, research drives societal progress and innovation, recognizing groundbreaking academic contributions is crucial. The Best Thesis Award seeks to celebrate and reward exemplary theses that demonstrate originality, academic rigor, and meaningful impact on academia, industry, or society. The methodology for the Best Thesis Award is designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and reliability.
Steps Involved:
1. Call for Nominations:
- Applications will open through the Chronicles of India website.

Candidates must submit their thesis, abstract, and supporting documents such as publication proofs, patents, or recommendation letters.
2. Preliminary Screening:
- A technical team evaluates submissions for eligibility and completeness.

Theses not meeting basic criteria are filtered out.
3. Expert Review Panel:

A multidisciplinary panel of experts (academicians, industry professionals, and researchers) is appointed for evaluation.

Each thesis is reviewed based on the weighted criteria.
4. Shortlisting:

Top 10% of submissions in each category (PG and Ph.D.) are shortlisted based on cumulative scores.

Shortlisted candidates are notified and may be asked to present their research in a virtual or physical format.
5. Final Selection:

Finalists are evaluated during a presentation round where they defend their thesis and discuss its impact.

Winners are selected based on their performance in the presentation and panel scores.
6. Certification, Awards and Benefits:

Winners and runners-up are announced at an annual event hosted by Chronicles of India.

Eligibility and
Criteria for Evalution
Eligibility
For PG Category:

Candidates must have completed a master’s thesis (e.g., M.Tech, M.Sc., MBA, etc.) within the last two academic years.

The thesis should have been submitted to an accredited university or institution in India.

Work must focus on innovation, problem-solving, or theoretical advancements.
For Ph.D. Category:

Candidates must have completed a doctoral thesis within the last three academic years.

The thesis must be submitted to an Indian university recognized by the UGC or an equivalent accreditation body.

Research in any domain with demonstrable contributions to knowledge or practice is eligible.
Common Requirements:

The thesis must have been defended successfully (viva voce) before submission.

Applications must include a letter of recommendation from the supervisor or Head of Department (HoD).

Jointly authored thesis are allowed, provided all contributors are listed.
Criteria for Evaluation
Originality and Innovation (30%): Uniqueness of the research problem and methodology; Novel contributions to the field of study.
Academic Rigor (25%): Theoretical foundation and depth of literature review; Robustness of research design, methodology, and analysis.
Impact & Relevance (25%): Potential societal, industrial, or academic impact; Applicability of findings to real-world problems.
Presentation Quality (10%): Clarity, coherence, and structure of the thesis; Quality of figures, tables, and citations.
Sustainability & Ethics (10%): Adherence to ethical standards in research; Consideration of environmental and societal sustainability.
