The STEM Education Rankings by Chronicles of India are designed to evaluate and celebrate the performance of higher education institutions offering programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Management (STEM). These rankings aim to empower institutions to enhance their academic rigor, research outcomes, industry partnerships, and employability.
With India emerging as a global hub for AI, data science, robotics, and deep tech, these rankings provide a comprehensive assessment framework that identifies institutions that are driving the future of STEM education. Our rankings are built on a multi-dimensional evaluation methodology that ensures objectivity, transparency, and fairness, aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
Purpose and Process
The primary objective of our STEM Rankings is to provide a transparent, data-driven assessment of educational institutions excelling in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Management (STEM) fields. By evaluating various performance indicators, we aim to guide students, educators, and policymakers in making informed decisions that foster academic excellence and innovation. Our ranking methodology encompasses several key steps to ensure accuracy and reliability.
The ranking methodology employs a comprehensive three-step process. Initially, data is collected from diverse sources such as institutional self-assessments, government and accreditation reports (e.g., AISHE, NAAC, NBA, NIRF), and feedback from industry and alumni. Next, institutions are evaluated across multiple dimensions through a framework that integrates quantitative analysis, qualitative peer reviews, and third-party audits. To ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the data, a two-tier verification system is used—starting with automated consistency checks and followed by independent audits and peer reviews for quality assurance.
